Digos City; Farewell to Digos Theater

The old abandoned building of the Digos Theater went down in flames at the eve of January 20,2009.

Digos City was terrified with the great fire that blazed in the heart of the city while waiting for the inauguration ceremony of US President Elect Barack Obama, other Digosenos where busy watching the fire that devoured the old building that served as refuge and shelter for Badjao’s that crawl in the streets of the City.

Firewalls made it safe for other establishments surrounding ground zero. The response to the fire was great through the efforts of firemen and volunteers all over Davao del Sur, Digos City and Davao City.

The Fire Out Signal was released and just as people was about to leave, the skies sent its delayed aid through a heavy rain that poured in Digos.

Arson? Natural? Faulty wiring?accident? whatever the couse might be it is by time we say Farewell to the Digos Theater.

DIGOS CITY; USWAG?

Well Digos City is already in its stage of maturity compared to its neighboring cities that have just turned themselves from a municipality into a city but did it really grow ever since that day we signed the plebiscite that made this municipality of Davao del Sur a City?

Some might even compare the city to its neighbor, Davao… Well I guess that would be a long shot for them but one thing is for sure, taxes increased.

we have garnered a new record of having the longest running Mayor in the Philippines. Mayor Arcenio Boy Latasa has held this position in governance ever since Digos has been a municipality until it has “Grown” into a City.

Personally i could not be the judge of that, but in fairness to it.. it is one of the most progressive city/municipality in Davao del Sur.

Not only that, it is home to the province’s  Governor, 1st District Congressman and Board member; the  Cagas Family. Which I think you may know that the country is watching due to the 2nd round of Latasa- Cagas Feud! ” Will this ever end?” so said a local in Digos.

people are begining to think that as to the problems that the city or the province has been facing(We mean important problems) they still have time to bicker and point fingers one with another.

Now… as a citizen of Digos, can u say NAGUSWAG NA BA ANG DIGOS?
